Bible Text: Jeremiah 11:18-20, Psalm 54, James 3:13-4:3, 7-8a, Mark 9:30-37 |

Self-promoting people are fragile, edgy, and jarring, while the truly humble person is soothing, loving, and gracious. Humility is freedom from the need to prove you are, in any way, superior. Egotism is a ravenous hunger which seeks to consume everything in its path. It is self-concerned, competitive, and attention-craving. Humility is infused with lovely emotions like admiration, companionship, and gratitude. “Thankfulness,” former Archbishop of Canterbury, Michael Ramsey, said, “is a soil in which pride does not easily grow.”

Bible Text: Proverbs 22:1-2, 8-9, 22-23, Psalm 125, James 2:1-17, Mark 7:24-37 |

"...Like love, grace, forgiveness, and truth – we have watered down the true meaning of mercy. It is not holding someone’s hand and saying “there, there” or “I’m so sorry” or  giving  a predictable response saying, “I’ll pray for you.”It may begin at there, but its goal is always to point us towardGod’s desire to heal, transform, and redeem our lives."
